Welcome to Personal Interests! The blogpost where you learn more about me, my life and what I like. Before you know me, you have to know my music taste: K-pop.
I got addicted to K-pop when I was 13~14 years old and didn't stop listening to it ever since.
So here's my "stash"
So here's my little collection of K-pop CD's. Some of you might wonder "Why do you still buy CD's?"
Answer: When you buy K-pop CD's, some are bigger (Example: The 2AM CD you see at the top or the B2ST CD at the front) and it comes with a lot of extra pictures and information. So for a real K-pop fan, CD's are a MUST! I'll show you some pictures later to help you understand.
So my first Korean song ever was "Don't Don" by Super Junior. A girl I knew in the past made me listen to this song (while I was still into japanese songs) and I actually kinda liked it.
A year later (!!) I thought "Maybe there's an MV!" So I searched for the MV and found it.
I was highly impressed by how all the members looked and decided to watch some more MV's from Super Junior. I discovered "Happiness"
The concept of "Happiness" was so different from the last MV I saw from Super Junior and I thought "Wow Korean music really is something!" So I became a fan of Super Junior.
However, I only purchased 1 CD from them. I actually did buy their 5th album but I havn't got it yet. So unofficially, I own 2 albums from SUJU.
So when you're not really into pop music I really recommend you to listen to Mate.
They are an Indie-Rock band (They do sing in Korean, but that's just getting used to)
and their songs are so amazing I can play these CD's all day long.
How can I describe Sweet Sorrow in one word? UNBELIEVABLE. What they can do with their voice is just amazing. That's the reason why I bought all their CD's. I'm such a big fan of their songs and I can really feel the songs are real. Highly recommend the CD on the right.
So here are 3 more CD's, The Note from Tei, Someday from Younha, and MBLAQ's 1st Mini Album.
I'm not a really big fan of 2PM in general, but I really like ALL the songs on this album. Except 돌아올지도 몰라 (Bossa nova mix) But If you listen to it you'll understand why it's not my style, haha.
I honestly think buying this album is a waste of money. It contains 6 songs and I only bought this album because I really liked 1 song on the album. So when I heard the other songs I was like.. "Why didn't I download this."
This is also a very good album if you want to relax and listen to a very good voice. Alex is such a good singer. He sings Korean and English so you might understand a bit of what he's saying!
I am a really big fan of B2ST so it's no suprise I actually do own one of their albums. I am planning to buy ALL (incl. mini albums and full albums) because they're is no song I don't like from them.
And I also own their first mini album. This comes in a box with a photobook and a "special thanks" book as you can see on the picture above.
So here's something I got with Super Junior's album, a lot of pictures from their concerts. Obviously I couldn't be there because it was held in several countries in Asia, but it's nice to get this as a little reminder of which shows I want to visit later on!
And on the other side some pictures with autograph! Really something nice to have as a fan!
Yup it was around Christmas time when I got this. Autograph from MBLAQ.
This is also something I got with Alex' album.
See what I mean with getting some extra's? It's really something nice to have and to look at. Especially the pictures that come with every album, they put so much love and care into an album you just HAVE to get one at least once in your life. And if you order them at YesAsia.com (where I purchased all my albums shown above) their prices are actually quite reasonable. You can get a full album for around €10,- while a normal album in Holland is around €15,-
So I hope you understand my taste in music and search some Korean music, you might actually like it!
[Disclaimer] I was not sponsored by YesAsia.com for showing you what I bought. They didn't contact me what so ever. This is just a blog to show you what I have and what I liked about it.
Until next time!
